Privacy Policy
Effective Date: Feb' 1st 2025
Welcome to Disc0nnected. We know you didn’t come here for a lecture on data privacy – you probably just wanted a cool t-shirt. But you know what? We think privacy is cool. We think GDPR is cool. That’s right. Europe got this one right. These rules put you in control of your data, which is how it should be everywhere. Sadly, it’s not. A lot of people in other parts of the world are still getting their personal info hoarded, traded, and exploited like digital livestock. We think that sucks. Here? You call the shots.
Here’s what that means when you shop with us:
1. What we collect (and why)
We need some of your info to get your order from our screen to your doorstep. That’s the game. But unlike certain tech giants, we’re not here to mine your soul. Here’s what we ask for and why:
-
Name & Address: So we know where to send that anti-scroll masterpiece you just ordered. (Legal Basis: Contractual necessity)
-
Email: So we can confirm your order, keep you in the loop, and (only if you say yes) tell you about new drops. (Legal Basis: Contractual necessity for order updates, Consent for marketing)
-
Payment Info: Because we like to get paid. (Handled securely by pros like Stripe and PayPal; we don’t see or keep your card details.) (Legal Basis: Contractual necessity)
-
Browsing Data: We see what pages you like, what works, what doesn’t – to make your experience better. (Legal Basis: Legitimate interest)
2. Cookies: the digital crumbs
-
Yeah, we use cookies. Not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. These little data packets help us:
-
Keep your cart loaded while you browse.
-
Remember who you are next time you visit.
-
Understand what’s working and what’s not (because guessing sucks).
-
Legal basis: Consent (for non-essential cookies), Legitimate interest (for essential cookies).
-
Don’t like it? You can disable cookies in your browser. But fair warning – the site might act weird without them.
3. What we won't do
We don’t sell your data. Period. We don’t spam you. We hate that too. We don’t stalk you across the internet. Life’s already noisy enough.
4. Who gets to see your info
Only the people who need it to get your order to you:
-
Our Team: To process your order.
-
Payment Processors: Stripe, PayPal – pros who handle your payments securely.
-
Delivery Partners: So your t-shirt doesn’t end up in the Bermuda Triangle.
-
Analytics Tools: Because knowing what works helps us avoid making junk.
-
Occasionally, Lawyers: If we’re legally required to share info (hopefully never, but let’s be real).
Sometimes, your data leaves Europe (hello, global internet). When it does, we make sure it’s covered by something called Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). That’s EU legal talk for “your data stays protected.”
5. Security - because data breaches aren't cool
We take your privacy seriously. Industry-standard encryption, secure servers – all the boring but important stuff is in place to keep your info safe. That said, nothing online is bulletproof. If anyone promises you 100% security, they’re lying.
6. Your rights (yes, you have some)
Thanks to GDPR, you get to:
-
Ask us what data we have on you.
-
Tell us to update or correct your info.
-
Ask us to delete your data (unless we need it for legal reasons).
-
Ask for a copy of your data in a portable format.
-
Object to us processing your data in certain ways.
-
Withdraw your consent (for marketing, cookies, etc.).
-
Complain to the CNPD (Luxembourg’s data watchdog) if you think we’ve messed up.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@disc0nnected.com.
7. Third-party links: we can't vouch for everyone
Sometimes we link to other websites or social media. If you click and dive down that rabbit hole, their privacy policies apply. We can’t control what they do, so check their policies if you’re curious (or paranoid).
8. Kids? Sorry, not for you
Our stuff is made for grown-ups and older teens. We don’t knowingly collect data from kids under 13. If we find out we did, we’ll delete it faster than you can say “TikTok.”
9. Data Retention
We keep your data as long as we need it to:
-
Fulfill your order.
-
Handle returns, complaints, or legal stuff.
-
Meet tax and accounting requirements.
When we don’t need it anymore, we delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We might update this policy from time to time (because laws change, and we get smarter). If it’s anything major, we’ll let you know. Otherwise, check back here now and then – we promise to keep it jargon-free.
